4-H Fair Textile Show Script Examples
Examples of Scripts:
We encourage members to write scripts that give a good description of their project.
Additionally, 4-Hers may want to include information about themselves. We appreciate scripts
that incorporate the theme for the textile show.
Ahoy mates! Walking the plank is Becki Homecki in her favorite new island ensemble.
The 3/4 length pant Becki has constructed is made from a vibrant tropical print. Becki designed
the coordinated top herself. We are sure she had better protect the pattern or it could be stolen by
the pattern pirates. Becki selected a 100% cotton fabric for both pieces because it will help her
keep her cool this summer as she hunts for buried treasure. We sure think Becki has a golden
gift as a seamstress, wouldn’t you agree. Perhaps her talent is her treasure!
Nancy Needle is going for the gold with her full-length lined wool swing coat. The style
is sure to fetch the attention. Nancy constructed her coat from a beautiful burgundy Pendleton
wool. Nancy’s sewing instructor informed us that Nancy can swear like a sailor when her sewing
machine goes haywire. Nancy thought the pattern writers did a dastardly job, so Nancy learned
quite a bit by trial and error as she completed the lining for the coat. Nancy added some jewels
to complete her outfit. We are certain she will treasure the skills she learned in constructing this
coat, especially her skills in patience.
Deanna Design has been hunting for a textile treasure since joining the sewing project
three years ago. We think Deanna has found prize with this whimsical quilt she has made. The
quilt challenged Deanna to use a variety of new techniques including applique, photo printing on
fabric and hand-quilting. Deanna pillaged her grandmother’s fabric stash to find vintage fabrics
to use in her project. Wouldn’t you agreed that Deanna has created a masterpiece to be treasured
by future generations?
